ARTISTS
EMALOHI IRUOBE
Emalohi Iruobe is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and community organizer whose practice examines the ideological perspectives of African women. Trained as a lawyer, her artistic work manifests through a variety of media, including sculpture, performance, film, installation, and assemblage. A central element of her work is the use of cloth, sourced from her late mother's personal wardrobe and belongings, as a medium to illuminate the often-unseen labor, obscured narratives, contributions, and humanity of African women. Her art serves as a tribute to her late mother, as well as a celebration of contemporary women, fostering a dialogue across generations.
ADEY OMOTADE
I work at the intersection of acoustic ecology, sound design, experimental music, graphic design and video. My practice is deeply grounded in Yoruba cultural knowledge, through which I explore themes of migration, ecology, ancestral memory, and identity. Drawing on oral histories and archival materials—particularly early 20th century Yoruba recordings—I investigate how systems of power shape our perceptions of race, love, and indigenous knowledge.
POSTAFROBEAT
Postafrobeat is a genre, visual, sonic, and cultural theory founded by; and evolving through the collaborative practice of Emalohi and Adey Omotade. It is a transdisciplinary praxis that reactivates the ethical and sonic energies of Yoruba indigenous belief systems through recursion, technology, and speculative design; remapping sound, image, and sociality across contemporary infrastructures.

After releasing a string of buzz worthy online singles (and track features), Nonku is currently prepping her debut full length album to be released by her self-founded independent label.
ADAEZE ELECHI
Adaeze Elechi is a Nigerian writer and award-winning filmmaker whose works interrogate concepts of belonging and alienation, memory and identity, and trauma and healing.
